Nelan passed his university entrance from Weranketagoda government school but missed the university from few marks. The subsequent year, he spent on improving his English language skills and obtained a diploma in English. Once he come back to the village, he met Ajith Karunarathe, a university lecturer who just initiated Prabhavi Resources Center and about to establish Prabhavi Public Library. Since then Nelan was an active member and showed his brilliant skills is communication and organizational management. Soon he became the vice-president of Prabhavi. He worked really hard to establish Prabhavi Information and communication technology center and as a result of his and and his co-workers ability, they we able to start it initially with two computers.

Necessities at Prabhavi forced him to undergo number of computer hardware and software trainings and soon became talented IT personnel. Nelan's Managerial skills were improved exponentially after he became the president of the association. Dedicated working with the professionals in the field and from trainings and workshops Nelan became a good team leader and an administrator. He is currently waiting for the admission from Open University of Sri Lanka for his bachelor’s degree in computer science. He is the current chief administrator-operations at Prabhavi and mean while working as a IT and English lecturer at Prabhavi IT center.

Nelan involvement in establishing Prabhavi information and communication technology center with NENASALA project from ICTA www.icta.lk , leading role in establishing a Business Process Outsourcing (PBO) and Prabhavi agro-services Ltd. is remarkable.

Chanaki read her university enterance from Weranketagoda government school and currently an external undergraduate student at university of .......... She is a trained IT teacher at Prabhavi IT center. Chanaki has participate number of workshops and trainingi currently waiting for the admission from Open university of Sri lanka for his manaement degree. As an accreditation to his service for underprivileged communities, Nelan was invited to a live discussion at the National Television Cooperation in 2006 to address the nation.

What made Nelan Dayarathne more remarkable is his dedication to continue his service being living in a rural area with almost no infrastructure and especially without any stipend. He refused his opportunity to be a government school teacher and still working for much broad objectives to light up the isolated rural communities in Sri Lanka. It’s time to pay the global attention to such dedicated community leaders to encourage them to make a better world. . ...................
